Have you taken notice of how incredibly desensitized the world has become?
Possibly not because you are desensitized as well or if you're reading this overly sensitive to the fact the world is becoming a pretty awful place. It's our fault.
Recent events have me drowning in my thoughts about what the hell is going on with humanity and wondering if we are beyond hope at this point. Here in Detroit a billionaire capitalist purchased a building in a once dangerous part of downtown, in the building resided a mix of artists and disabled veterans who enjoyed the benefits of living in building downtown they could afford. The billionaire evicted everyone out of the building without a relocation plan, leaving many of these people to try to find housing with the small income they live on. The most screwed up thing is this guy is rich and powerful, he could have easily put together a fund to help relocate these people, he could have thought about how his actions affected others, he also received approximately a $1 million in funding from the State of Michigan for the project in tax breaks. The rich get government help, the poor get fucked and the rest of us close our eyes pretending this isn't happening because it doesn't directly affect us but who actually pays the bills people? We do. Society, tax payers, the middle class. It's time to open our eyes.
For more details on this debacles and the one below the only news outlet ballsy enough to write about it is Gawker.

Speaking of rich people who love to take money from the government and then do whatever they want, not only did the family who owns two major sports teams in Detroit accept $250 million in bond funding from the bankrupt city of Detroit to build a new stadium for their hockey team, they actually have the nerve to blow up historic buildings to make their dream happen. The most screwed up thing is the people just sat around and watched them do it. Apparently we are so desensitised as a society that we allow the rich to do whatever the hell they want now, break the law, displace disabled war veterans and take money from bankrupt cities.
We are so desensitized we think it's acceptable to "Ghost" people we are friends or lovers with because we are done with them instead of showing another human being the respect of having a conversation. Ghosting is when you stop digital contact with someone via email or text, you just stop, no sorry this isn't working out, etc. Just stop. This isn't acceptable behavior for adults, this is rude and mean, and the New York Times felt it needed to explain this to America.

While we are on the subject of what's acceptable or not, why is it ok for a rich white man to become a woman but a white woman cannot become a black woman? What's the difference? Aren't they both just a choice of people identifying with something different than what they were born into? What makes one ok but another bad? And who are we to judge them?
What makes it ok to eat an animal but not another person? Or what makes one animal acceptable to eat and not another? Aren't they all suffering at our hand and if it was your child and not a veal would you be able to slaughter and eat them? What's the difference?
The other day I was having a conversation with someone who had 20+ years of sobriety who told me they would make fun of their friend because he was a vegetarian. It blew my mind, so I asked him, "what if someone made fun of you because you are sober? that is your life choice, wouldn't you want them to respect it? what makes his choices funny to you? why do you feel you need to make fun of him?" Desensitised
Yes I believe that all people should have the right to vote, to marry who they love and live the life they see fit for themselves without harming other living creatures.
At the end of the day what are your beliefs? Where do you draw the line? Are you actually doing something to make the world a better place? Or are you watching people who get whatever they want blow up historic buildings so they can have a loading dock?
